Man Arrested After Paola Shooting: No Injuries Reported

A man has been arrested after a gun was allegedly fired on a Paola street on Sunday evening.
Police confirmed that no one was injured but bullet fragments were later recovered in Melita Street. The incident occurred at around 9pm and prompted an immediate response from officers.
The suspect, said to be in his early thirties, briefly sought shelter in a nearby residence before surrendering to police following negotiations.

TVM News identified him as 33 year old Melvin Debono, known by the nickname Il Quws, citing sources close to the investigation.
Reports indicate Debono has previously been granted bail several times in connection with other alleged offences.
Police are also looking for another man believed to have been arguing with him at the time of the shooting. Earlier this year Debono was arraigned on charges linked to a high speed chase that ended in a collision.
