Maltese Sausage Fest Taking Place This Saturday!

A celebration of one of Malta’s most beloved traditional foods is set to take place this Saturday, 26 July, with a unique event dedicated to the zalzett tal-Malti.

The festival will feature an exciting attempt to break the local record for the longest Maltese sausage, with Nigret Butcher spearheading the challenge.

The event aims to highlight the cultural and culinary significance of the iconic zalzett, bringing together tradition, creativity and community spirit.

A number of well-known local names will be participating, including Maypole, Nenu the Artisan Baker, Cavett and Zwitt. Each will present their own special version of the classic sausage, offering everything from age-old recipes to bold, contemporary interpretations.

Food lovers will be able to enjoy a variety of stalls serving innovative dishes inspired by the Maltese sausage, making it a must-visit for anyone passionate about local cuisine.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, singer Lara will be performing live with The Jukebox, providing entertainment throughout the evening.

Open to the public, the event is expected to draw crowds from across the island for a fun and flavourful evening celebrating one of Malta’s most iconic delicacies.
