Following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe V Wade on the 24th of June, giants Disney and Netflix have announced that they will cover travel expenses for employees seeking abortions.

Disney reached out to its employees to confirm that it will be extending the ‘family planning’ benefit to any worker who cannot access abortions where they live.

In a statement to the Washington Post, Disney revealed that they recognise the impact of the ruling and that they will remain committed to providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care.

With 195,000 employees worldwide, roughly 80,000 work in Florida. Meanwhile, Netflix also announced they will offer up $10,000 travel reimbursements to employees in need of gender affirming care, cancer treatment and abortion.

This move was also taken up by the likes of Paramount Global and Warner Bros. Discovery. Meta also announced such a move but still need to work out how to do so without breaking any laws.

The Supreme Court decision overturned a 50-year-old ruling granting millions of women the legal right to abortion. The ruling could see half of the states introducing restrictions or bans, with 13 states already passing trigger laws.

J.Portelli Projects reportedly buys an Island in Montenegro for around 100 millionSveti Marko Island, historically known as Stradioti, is an island on the Adriatic Sea, in the Montenegrin municipality of Tivat. According to an Ancient Greek legend, the island was a gift from the gods to Greek soldiers who healed their wounds after battles on the island. Out of gratitude, they swore that they will never again wage a war on their own, but only protect themselves if need be. They broke the oath eventually, and the enraged gods sent a deadly storm which killed everyone on the island, leaving only the beautiful old olive trees. Sveti Marko Island is located near the town of Tivat, in the Bay of Kotor.

Gareth Bale agrees to join American side Los Angeles FC

Jun 25 2022 Share

Welsh and Real Madrid superstar has agreed to join MLS side Los Angeles FC on a year-long contract, which will see him regain his fitness before Wales’s long awaited World Cup campaign. He will reportedly have an option to extend his stay stateside for a further 18 months.

The 32 year old will join fellow European star and former Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini in what will be an interesting experience in Los Angeles. He reportedly had many other offers from clubs even in Europe, such as hometown side Cardiff City.

In June, Bale had this to say after helping his country qualify for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar; “I just want to be playing going into the World Cup to be as fit as I can,”

“Once I get back into playing regular football, my body will get more robust and a bit better.

“It’s very difficult when you’re in and out of a team to get a rhythm in terms of your fitness and health. Any player will tell you, playing week-in week-out, your body becomes more robust, you get used to it and you get fitter by doing that. I just need to play games and I’ll be good to go.”

It has been a very good summer for MLS teams when it comes to transfers. Los Angeles FC have not been the only team signing European players with big reputations with Toronto FC signing former Napoli captain and Italian national team star Lorenzo Insigne.
