Maltese & Italian Police Officers Launch Joint Patrol In Valletta

Taking to social media, The Malta Police Force shared the first photos of the first joint patrol initiative launched in line with a Memorandum of Understanding with Italy’s Polizia di Stato back in December 2024.
The collaborative effort aims at ‘increasing police visibility in busy areas, assisting Italian tourists visiting Malta and enhancing coordination between the two forces.’
‘From 21st July to 17th August, 4 Italian officers will be working alongside our District and Community Policing Teams in Valletta and St Julian’s.’
The officers are unarmed and have no executive powers, however, the police force explained in a statement, will bring with them ‘extensive experience in public order and international cooperation.’
‘Similar international collaborations are not new to the Malta Police Force. Recently, Maltese Police officers joined joint patrols in Nice, France.’
