Maltese footballer Joseph Mbong captures Swiss FC Sion attention

Maltese winger Joseph Mbong, who recently scored his first international goal against Russia, has reportedly captured the attention of Swiss super league side FC Sion. Bolsplazz, a Swiss football website, has stated that Mbong’s recent extraordinary football mastery has intrigued a number of Swiss clubs. FC Sion seems to be leading the charge with interest in the 23-year-old player who currently plays for Hamrun Spartans.

The Maltese sports site Replay added that Hamrun received requests of information from FC Sion. A formal issue has not yet been issued, but things look promising for Mbong. Sion has won Super League twice and the Swiss Cup 13 times.

Malta and the UK have initiated bilateral talks on creating a digital vaccine certificate which will, according to Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo, not be limited by EU negotiations. The minister revealed that the certificate was already in development by the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) and is aimed for release by June alongside tourism reopening.

Bartolo stated that in discussions with the UK government, that information about the digital certificate and its components are already being exchanged. The Minister has already emphasised the importance of the UK in jumpstarting the economy through tourism post-COVID-19. The passport’s standard QR code, and data stating reception of vaccine doses will allow safe travel between the two countries.

WATCH: Crash between Mercedes-AMG GT and Police car

A video making rounds on social media shows a crash that has allegedly taken place between a yellow Mercedes-AMG GT and a police car, leading to a traffic congestion. The video shows the bumper-to-bumper collision which occurred on St Andrew’s Street in Swieqi, with what seems to be the car owner and police officer inspecting the damage done to the vehicles.

The police car seems to have received quite the damage as a crumpled bonnet behind the yellow Mercedes is evident in the video. The reason for the incident is as of yet unknown but the Mercedes-AMG GT value is known to shoot upwards of €100,000. The Malta Police Force seems to be in for quite a bill.

Maltese star and entrepreneur Christabelle Borg posted on Instagram to announce that she has achieved one of her lifelong dreams of being interviewed by business magazine Forbes. As CEO of the industrial company V&C, which holds shares in several businesses ranging from contractors, development and hospitality among others, Christabelle has managed to achieve the interview for her excellent work and entrepreneurial skill.

Christabelle has previously represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest but her talents are not limited just to the performing arts. Her followers flooded her with praise for her achievement as she continues to make landmarks in the world of business. Well done Christabelle!
