Maltese Football Supporters Show Respect To Diogo Jota and His Brother

Various Maltese football fans and local supporters’ clubs have come together to pay tribute to Liverpool striker Diogo Jota and his brother André following their tragic passing in a fatal car crash.
The Liverpool Supporters Club Malta, in collaboration with the Malta Football Association, set up a commemorative area at the North Stand of the National Stadium in Ta’ Qali.
The area was soon adorned with flowers, scarves, and heartfelt messages, not just from Liverpool fans, but also from rival club supporters, reflecting the wide-reaching impact of the tragedy.
Members of the Manchester United Supporters’ Club Malta visited the memorial site and laid flowers alongside a MUSC Malta scarf, expressing their solidarity and respect.
In a similar show of unity, the Arsenal Malta Supporters Club honoured Jota’s memory with a symbolic gift and tribute.
This collective gesture by local football fans, regardless of club allegiance, highlights the deep respect and compassion shared across the football community in Malta.
In moments of sorrow, the local sporting scene has once again demonstrated its ability to come together, united by empathy and love for the game.
