Maltese Football Icon Roderick Briffa Retires After Remarkable Career

The Malta Football Association has posted a heartfelt tribute saluting one of the nation’s football greats, as Roderick Briffa officially announces his retirement from the game.
In a statement celebrating his exceptional contribution to Maltese football, the MFA said, “Saluting a Maltese football great!”, recognising Briffa’s long-standing presence at the heart of Maltese football.
Briffa’s career spanned more than 25 years. Briffa was a key figure in the Malta National Team for over 15 years. He became one of only seven players in the country’s history to earn 100 caps a milestone that cements his legacy among the national side’s elite.
The Malta FA concluded its tribute by thanking Briffa for his service, stating, “Thank you for years of service to Maltese football, Roderick!”
