Maltese Flag Spotted During Liverpool Title Celebrations

Numerous Maltese fans made the journey to Liverpool to join the celebrations of Liverpool FC’s historic 20th league title. The Maltese flag was spotted waving among the jubilant crowds during the Premier League victory parade.
However, the day of celebration ended in tragedy. Shortly after the parade concluded and roads were reopened, a car drove into a crowd near Water Street in Liverpool city centre. At least 27 people, including four children, were taken to hospital. Although no fatalities have been reported, two individuals—an adult and a child—sustained serious injuries.
A 53-year-old white British man, believed to be the driver, was arrested at the scene. Merseyside Police have confirmed the incident is not being treated as terrorism and that no other suspects are being sought.
Emergency services, including paramedics and volunteers, responded quickly to assist the injured. Witness Les Winsper told The Guardian how people attempted to stop the vehicle by banging on and smashing its windows before it accelerated into the crowd.
