A video shared by Maltese MEP Josianne Cutajar shows the traditional and unique Maltese carnival dance ‘Il-Kummittiva performed in Xagħra, Gozo’s Pjazza Nazzarenu.

The dance goes way back into Maltese history, but is now performed by a group in the Gozitan locality and incorporated performers of different ages.

Two Cars Crash, Hit Eight Parked Vehicles

Two cars in Triq il-Misraħ il-Barrieri, Santa Venera, crashed and, due to the impact, resulted in the two vehicles hitting 8 other vehicles which were parked in the vicinity at around 17:00hrs.

The two cars were driven by a 29 year old Bulgarian woman resident of Santa Venera and the other by a 24 year old man resident of San Ġwann. 

Newsbook was informed that the two drivers were taken to Mater Dei Hospital. The man was confirmed to have suffered light injuries whereas the condition of the woman is as of yet unknown.

X Factor Malta winner Richard went for a Serkin Pastizz following his victory last Saturday.

Richard continued the tradition of grabbing a pastizz from Rabat’s iconic Serkin after being crowned the winner of the fourth season of the Maltese version of the popular singing competition. 

But the important, as of yet unanswered, question is: ricotta or piżelli?

In information provided to Newsbook.com.mt, 2023 saw 36 cases wherein Malta Police officials were assaulted during their work. 

The statistics showed that St Julian’s had the highest amount of violence reported on police officers with 10 cases in 1 year, followed by St Paul’s Bay and Valletta with 3 cases. 

Meanwhile, Birżebbuġa, Furjana, Rabat and Ħaż-Żebbuġ saw 2 cases, whereas Ħ’Attard, Birkirkara, Fgura, Gżira, Ħamrun, Iklin, Marsa, Imsida, Raħal Ġdid, San Ġwann, Swieqi and Xagħra, Għawdex saw one case.
