Maltese visual artist Gabriel Buttigieg is one of the contemporary artists taking part in the group exhibition Mythic Manifest, opening on 12 July at Love Waxes Cold in London.

Gabriel expressed his excitement about being included in this diverse collection of artworks curated by Jennifer Smith (@jennifer_smith_art).

His piece, Leila (on Women and Children), draws inspiration from the night, his favourite time to create. “Ideas cluster in my mind without my having to summon them,” he explains. The painting aims to capture the night as he experiences it, filled with starbursts of thoughts and connections.

The exhibition, curated by Jennifer Smith, brings together a captivating line-up of contemporary artists exploring themes of mythology, identity, and emotion.
