The team seems ready to show what they are truly made of before the foreign competitors face them on the court.

For the two team sports, Basketball and Rugby 7s, a provisional squad has been selected, with the final squads being announced closer to the games.

PN MP calls out delays and lack of Mellieha road project planning

PN MP calls out delays and lack of Mellieha road project planning
May 25 2023 Share

Nationalist MP Alex Borg shared on social media a couple of photos of traffic in the Mellieha area, caused primarily by the ongoing road works.

‘Work needs to happen and a temporary inconvenience is to be expected’ he wrote. ‘But this exaggerated waiting time, as is the case here, is a massive detriment to anyone crossing the channel.’

‘Apart from the current delay, the current situation is giving us an indication as to how the traffic will be working when the project is finished. It is clear that one lane has increased the traffic.’

He also highlighted how the risks of accidents are increased when vehicles reverse out of the carriageway. ‘What will happen when an ambulance has to drive to Mater Dei from Gozo as often happens?’

‘It is clear that this project was planned wrong and without proper consultation. This will lead to a negative impact when it comes to accessibility to Gozo.’

‘As a member of the Nationalist Party I will make sure to explore all the options to quicken this inconvenience which has been created’ he finished.

Taking to Facebook, Liquorish contestant Dominic Giannakoudakis posted a video of himself directing cars during rush hour in Santa Venera/Qormi, and wondering why ‘authorities neglect to send anyone to direct traffic.’

This ‘when they are well aware of the regular James in Santa Venera/Qormi during rush hour.’

‘I ended up taking matters into my own hands and personally directing the traffic just so we could make some progress so that I could get to work on time.’

He wrote how nobody seemed willing to give way. ‘It’s truly frustrating that everyone complains about the traffic congestion, yet there seems to be a lack of willingness to take action.’

He urged Transport Malta to take note how even a little guidance and direction can make a significant difference in solving this problem.

Love Islanders are using sex codes: here’s what they could mean

Love Islanders are using sex codes: here's what they could mean
May 25 2023 Share

So everyone got confused after Nicola and Dale re-emerged from their hideaway and the former used the term ‘manicure’ for what they did in the isolated room.

When asked by the other girls as to what happened, Nicola responded by saying: ‘We didn’t do anything. It was just a manicure and that’s it’, before trailing off into a giggle.

Well, if the foreign editions of Love Island are anything to go by, these terms are used by the Islanders to refer to anything frisky going on between them without using the actual terminology.

Nicola here seems to be using the 2022 Love Island sex codes, with manicure referring to either a handjob or fingering, depending on who is giving said manicure.

As the show goes on, you will very likely hear more such terms, so… A pipette was used to refer to the penis, whereas a blow dry means…well, you can probably figure out what means by yourself.

Then there was the ‘beauty salon’, which, when a contestant says that it is open, it means that sexual acts are occurring between the couple using the term.

This use of code is quite established in Love Island lore, but it is unclear whether the islanders are using code because they aren’t allowed to actually say the words or because they want to keep it entertaining. Anyways, keep your ears attuned for any new codes that might drop.
