Malta With 2nd Most Battery-Only Electric Car Registrations

According to new data released by Eurostat, Malta had the second highest share of battery-only electric cars among all new registrations in the EU.
Malta registered 37.7% of such vehicles last year, following Denmark’s 51.3% and superseding Sweden’s 34.9%.
In 2024, the share of such vehicles in the EU was 13.6%, which is 1.0 percentage points below the level in 2023.
The lowest was registered in Croatia at 1.8%, followed by Slovakia and Poland at 2.4% and 3.0%.
