The losing side between Spain and the Netherlands in their UEFA Nations League tie, will take on Malta in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
This means that Ta’ Qali National Stadium will be welcoming some of the world’s biggest footballing stars, whether it be Virgil Van Dijk or Ballon D’Or winner Rodri.
Malta has been drawn into a competitive group featuring Poland, Finland, and Lithuania, alongside the additional fixture against either Spain or the Netherlands.
This makes for a tough but thrilling challenge for the national team.
The qualifiers are set to begin in March 2025, with Malta aiming to leave its mark on the road to the World Cup.
