Between April 20th and 30th, the Malta International Fireworks Festival will once again grace the skies. 

This cultural extravaganza promises to light up the Maltese and Gozitan nights with dazzling pyrotechnic displays, adding to the richness of local festivities. Scheduled events include fireworks spectacles in Valletta, Marsaxlokk, Nadur, Mellieha, with a grand finale at the Grand Harbor on the month’s final day.

These details were announced during a press conference by Tourism and Consumer Protection Minister Clayton Bartolo and Malta Tourism Authority CEO Carlo Micallef.

Minister Bartolo stressed the festival’s significance to both locals and visitors, emphasizing its role in showcasing Malta and Gozo’s unique offerings. “The Fireworks Festival isn’t just for tourists; it’s a celebration for Maltese and Gozitan families, highlighting our diverse attractions,” Bartolo added.

MTA CEO Carlo Micallef highlighted the festival’s international promotion, aiming to attract specific tourist groups to Malta. “This event diversifies Malta’s tourism profile, especially during the quieter summer months,” Micallef concluded.

Malta International Airport has maintained its position among Europe’s best for service quality for the sixth consecutive year, with a satisfaction score of 4.38 in 2023. 

Despite record passenger volumes and ongoing infrastructure projects, CEO Alan Borg commended the team’s dedication to ensuring a positive guest experience. 

Guests expressed confidence in the airport, with above-average ratings across 34 key performance indicators, spanning cleanliness, staff courtesy, and ease of navigation. 

This recognition stems from the Airport Service Quality survey, completed by travelers globally. In February 2024, the airport saw a 25.1% increase in passenger traffic compared to the previous year, alongside growth in aircraft movements and seat capacity. 

Italy remains the top market, followed by the UK, Germany, Poland, and Spain. The airport has released its summer flight schedule, introducing direct routes to Belfast, Edinburgh, Norwich, Tallinn, and Basel, with increased frequencies to France, Italy, and the UK. 

Malta International Airport continues to prioritize guest satisfaction amidst significant growth and expansion efforts.

The birth was shared in a heartfelt post by Zarb, who took the opportunity to express her gratitude towards the dedicated staff across various wards at Mater Dei Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this special time.

Zarb’s message overflowed with thanks to her partner, Daryl Connor, praising his role in their growing family. “You and I have always believed in family values, where nothing and no one will compare to it, but in days like this, we truly experience its strength,” Zarb remarked.

The arrival of baby Nate marks a beautiful expansion of the Zarb family, which the MP addressed in her recent post, now boasting five members.

From the bustling cities of Sydney, Melbourne, to Brisbane, Fabian and Keith will encounter a diverse array of Maltese expatriates, some of whom left the Maltese islands decades ago but still hold Malta close to their hearts. These individuals, with their unwavering love for Maltese customs and cuisine, exemplify the enduring spirit of the Maltese diaspora.

In their culinary explorations, the Demicoli brothers will encounter families who have preserved the essence of Maltese cuisine, from homemade macaroni to bread with oil, pastries, fried rabbit, and mqaret. They will also meet individuals who have achieved great success in Australia while remaining deeply rooted in their Maltese heritage, as well as children of Maltese immigrants who proudly speak the Maltese language and continue the tradition of producing artisanal cheese.

According to the latest census, Australia is home to approximately 235,000 people of Maltese descent, a testament to the enduring legacy of Maltese culture in the country. “Brothers in Australia” seeks to celebrate this vibrant community and showcase their contributions to Australian society while honoring their deep-seated connection to Malta.

Supported by the Kultura TV fund within the Maltese Council for the Arts, “Brothers in Australia” is a collaborative effort produced by Emotive Media. The series promises to be a captivating exploration of culture, identity, and the universal language of food.
