The Malta Tourism Authority set a new record with an exceptional start to 2025, with the record-breaking figures for inbound travel in the first two months of the year. Official statistics published by the National Statistics Office highlighted Malta’s continued rise as a sought-after Mediterranean destination.

In February 2025 alone, the country welcomed 210,305 international visitors, setting a new monthly record and reflecting a 24.2% increase—equivalent to approximately 41,000 more tourists compared to February 2024.

Tourists aged 25 to 44 years represented the largest segment of visitors (38%), followed by those aged 45 to 64 (34.2%).

In terms of nationality, British, Polish, and Italian travellers made up 46.8% of the total inbound tourist market.

Dr. Charles Mangion, Chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority, commented: “These results are a clear reflection of the Malta Tourism Authority’s strategic investments in air connectivity, market diversification, and year-round destination promotion. Our ongoing collaboration with airline partners, travel trade, and stakeholders is ensuring that Malta remains top-of-mind for travellers. The record-breaking performance in the first two months of the year and sustained growth in early 2025 reaffirm the resilience and attractiveness of our tourism product.”
