Malta FA launches first-ever 4-year strategic plan for local football

The Malta Football Association has just made history by launching its first-ever strategic plan, set over the course of four years, which aims to strengthen the local football scene over four main areas.

Goals include further infrastructural development, growth of clubs and protection through legal framework and improvement of good governance through compliance and integrity, amongst others.

According to association President Bjorn Vassallo, the FA’s vision is to ‘further strengthen its investment to build a stronger foundation, prioritising long-term development and sustainability of Maltese football across all levels’.

Man & woman sustain injuries following Lamborghini incident in Zejtun

A 50-year-old man and 45-year-woman from Tarxien sustained grievous and serious injuries respectively after losing control of a Lamborghini Urus and crashed into a Zejtun residence at half past midnight on Wednesday.

Police, civil protection and a medical team were called onto the scene were the male driver and the female were taken to Mater Dei Hospital soon after.

Police magistrate Dr. Joseph Mifsud opened the inquiry as investigations are currently under way.

Teachers and school staff will start to be vaccinated in 6 weeks

Minister Chris Fearne confirmed with the Malta Independent that teachers and school staff will start to be vaccinated in six weeks. This is after the current cohort of vaccinations is completed.

In a conference given earlier today by Minister Chris Fearne, an update was delivered regarding the vaccination situation.

As of today, 43,000 doses of the vaccine will have been administered and 12,000 of these are second doses.
