The Malta Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the launch of Malta Vision 2050, describing it as a much-needed and encouraging step forward in shaping a unified, long-term strategy for the country.
The Chamber expressed satisfaction that several of its recommendations had been incorporated, particularly the integration of various fragmented ministerial strategies into one cohesive vision.
A notable achievement of Malta Vision 2050 was its shift away from focusing solely on GDP, instead placing equal importance on improving the quality of life for Malta’s citizens. The vision set measurable long-term targets, breaking free from the constraints of short electoral cycles.
The Chamber emphasised the need for effective implementation, strong budgetary support, and leadership across both domestic and international roles.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and regular progress monitoring through the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD) were deemed essential to ensure the plan stayed on track.
The Malta Chamber remains committed to working with Government and all stakeholders to ensure that the Malta Vision 2050 achieves its objectives.
