Major Fire Burning Down Ħal Far Factory Put Out

A major industrial fire that broke out in the Ħal Far Industrial Zone on Friday evening has been successfully brought under control, authorities confirmed.

Civil Protection Malta responded swiftly to the blaze, deploying multiple units to the scene. While the fire has been contained, firefighters remain on-site to manage any remaining hotspots and ensure the area is safe.

The public has been urged to stay away from the area to allow emergency crews to continue their work safely and without obstruction.

The Civil Protection Department expressed gratitude to all agencies that assisted in the operation, including The Malta Police Force, Mater Dei Hospital’s Emergency Department, Malta International Airport Fire Section, Transport Malta, CPD volunteers, the Emergency Fire & Rescue Unit, and St John Ambulance & Rescue Malta.

Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri visited the site, where he met the Civil Protection officers and other workers who had been tackling the flames for hours.

He confirmed that the situation was under control thanks to the coordinated efforts of all those involved, although operations were expected to continue for several more hours.
