Yesterday, Prime Minister Robert Abela and his wife Lydia Abela celebrated 14 years of marriage, looking back on ‘one of the most special days’ in their life with an emotional post.

Lydia Abela took to Instagram to celebrate the couple’s special day, posting a photo of the couple captioned with an emotional message concluding with “Grateful for every moment we share together. I love you immensely.”

This week, Dr. Abela also celebrated her birthday, with the Prime Minister paying tribute to his other half with a Facebook post which has since garnered over 8.9K likes.

“I want to pay respect to the Honourable Robert Arrigo, who was a staunch supporter of Spurs actually. But he suddenly passed away yesterday…” The sombre tribute bellowed across Old Trafford as Maltese and foreign supporters alike took a moment to pay their respects to the late Tottenham supporter.

The initiative was taken on the initiative of Nationalist Party Whip Robert Cutajar and was originally planned to be a ‘get well soon’ message which sadly turned into a tribute to a late colleague and friend.

RIP Robert Arrigo.

Touching tribute by wife of late 28 year old who died suddenly

A touching tribute was shared on social media by Rebecca Galea Luca, the wife of the late 28-year-old Jean Luke, who was found dead late on Tuesday morning.

The two had gotten married four months ago, but their loving marriage was cut short after Jean Luke was found dead despite being a healthy young man.

As the cause of death is still being investigated, Rebecca shared a touching tribute for Jean Luke, recalling the last conversation the two had shared.

Rebecca recalled how Jean Luke wanted her to stay home, but she had to attend to her work. His last response was ‘uff ok sabiha inhobbok’ (ugh, ok i love you, beautiful).

‘How can I live without you’ she asked. ‘You always treated me like a queen and I literally had nothing else to wish for. She recalled him encouraging her about finding their dream home.

‘I am at a loss for words. I tried everything in my power to save you’ she ended her post. The grief was shared by many people who are still baffled over the sudden passing to which no cause has as of yet been found.

Maltese brand ‘Hobz Bakery’ to bring delicious pastries to Edinburgh

Leith, Edinburgh is about to welcome a Maltese-driven business centred all around delicious pastries and warm cups of coffee.

Called ‘Hobz Bakery’, the business is driven by young 25-year-old Matthew Mallia, who shared his ambitious plans for the bakery with newsroom ‘The Scotsman’.

Mallia himself has lived in the UK for around 5 years, having moved to Oxford to finish both a Masters and a PhD in Edinburgh. However, his passion for baking returned after his academic plans did not shape up what he expected them to be.

The idea for Hobz was dreamt up during the pandemic, and he went on to launch the business in January 2021, starting by taking orders from locals.

His partner in life Julianna is also in on the business and will be leading the coffee of the bakery. With an open plan bakery concept, bread and pastries will be baked all morning so that people can experience the freshest products possible.
