7 Locals Fail To Break Record Of Most Nuggets Eaten In 20 Minutes

7 Locals Fail To Break Record Of Most Nuggets Eaten In 20 Minutes
Nov 18 2024 Share

A group of seven men attempted to break the Maltese record for the most chicken nuggets eaten in 20 minutes on Sunday but fell short by 24 nuggets.

The challenge, overseen by The Malta Records, took place in Siġġiewi, where the team faced 350 chicken nuggets. Despite their efforts, the team only managed to eat 215 nuggets, falling short of the 238-nugget record set in 2019 by an Mġarr team.

The challenge was organised by Tyrone Debono, who suggested the idea as a fun activity for his upcoming 30th birthday and to raise funds for animal shelters.

After a trial run where the team ate 250 nuggets, they contacted The Malta Records and set a date for the attempt. The participants, including team captain Daniel Debattista, followed the competition’s rules, which included no standing up during the challenge.

After 20 minutes, with 125 nuggets remaining, the team had failed to break the record.

Despite the disappointment, the team considered it a memorable experience and hinted at trying again in the future.

Kaumba, a stylist from New York City, created the “Granny Series” in 2023, where she styled her grandmother in high-fashion outfits and photographed her in the natural setting of their Zambian farm.

The series quickly gained popularity on Instagram, where Chola, known as “Legendary Glamma,” now has 60.8K followers.

Chola’s fashion includes bold outfits, such as vibrant dresses, jeans with graphic tees, and accessories like pearls, hats, and wigs.

Her granddaughter’s posts often feature Chola posing with personal items, like her radio or cooking brazier, which reflect her daily life in Zambia. The series, especially a photoshoot featuring Chola in a red Adidas dress and a crown, went viral in April 2024, garnering global attention.

Through this experience, Chola has found a new sense of purpose. She urges others to “live their lives” without fear of judgment and to “forgive yourself.”
