Lost Little Hedgehog Rescued By Rangers From Road

During one of their late night patrols last night, the Malta Ranger Unit spotted something in the middle of the road… a tiny hedgehog too young to be alone.
When hedgehogs are smaller than the palm of your hand, the rangers explained, they might have lost their mother and won’t survive on their own.
‘In this case the hedgehogs wasn’t even the size of half a hand palm.’
‘Our Rangers immediately called Wildlife Rescue Team Malta who is the NGO with permits to rehabilitate and care for the protected Algerian Hedgehog. Just minutes later the hedgehog, now named Milo, could be dropped off with a dedicated volunteer.’
‘Hedgehogs are fairly easy to detect at night. If you’re driving and think it’s just a stone on the road, please look again! Hedgehogs are very similar to stone sized and shine up when you have the headlamps on. They are NOT invisible!’
