Videos of the spectacle show the various forms and colours local pyro-technicians have worked diligently to create, with fireworks being such a staple of Maltese festa culture.

The spectacle will once again take place today, the 21st, in Valletta. The celebration then proceeds to Marsaxlokk on April 26th, Nadur on April 27th, and Mellieħa on April 28th, before concluding with a final show in Valletta on April 30th.

Three young men were ordained as new priests by Archbishop Charles Scicluna in Valletta’s St John’s Co-Cathedral.

The Archdiocese of Malta shared the ordination of Dun Malcolm John Saliba, Dun Karl Andrew Schembri and Father Rob Rizzo SJ.

‘Archbishop Charles Scicluna’s message to them’, the Archdiocese explained, ‘is that they not only preach ministries of healing, but that they be humble enough that they pray to Jesus everyday for their own healing and soulful renewal.’

Karl Andrew Schembri was interviewed by MaltaDaily for an M Files episode earlier this year.

The 28 year old explained his journey to joining the priesthood and how his life eventually led him to following this path.
