Local Record For Most Balloons Thrown Off Balcony In Local Festa

The Malta Records have awarded yet another record in San Lawrenz, Gozo during the village feast, where enthusiasts threw the highest amount of balloons in the shortest time.
The record was set by the private house of Dun Manwel Cutajar with the help of Teddie Micallef and various friends.
A total of 1,427 balloons were thrown off the balcony in 8 minutes and 25 seconds, as others threw paper confetti off the balcony to add to the feast atmosphere.
Dun Manwel is known for his missionary work in Albania and having helped numerous locals overcome addiction.
The activity started around 50 years ago, and sees balloons and paper confetti thrown off a 35 foot high balcony.
