Local rap legend Hooligan took to social media to reveal the birth of his son: Legacy.

‘I always shared my life’s moments with you’, said the rapper, real name Johnston Farrugia, ‘some were better, some not as much. But today I’d like to share the best thing that could have happened in our life.’

That’s when he revealed his son, Legacy, born January 15th 2025.

‘Peace’, said Johnston, as his son gripped his fingers in his adorable tiny hands.

The Rabat Local Council building, Dar ir-Rabtin, has been officially inaugurated following an extensive €1 million restoration project.

Located in the heart of the locality, the building has been upgraded to better serve the needs of Rabat’s community of over 6,000 residents. It will be used for council operations and as a hub for social and educational initiatives.

Prime Minister Robert Abela, present at the inauguration, highlighted the importance of investing in projects that enhance services for residents.

He noted the role of local councils in addressing community needs and emphasized the importance of collaboration between councils and the government. Referring to local councils as “key collaborators,” the Prime Minister called for continued efforts to create more inclusive and sustainable communities.

Minister for National Heritage, Arts, and Local Government Owen Bonnici stated that the modernized building would improve accessibility and provide effective services to residents.

Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli acknowledged the importance of local councils as the first point of contact for citizens, praising their efforts in meeting the needs of families.

Rabat Mayor Sandro Craus stressed the value of ongoing projects in infrastructure, education, and social services, aiming to deliver further benefits to the community.

On January 16, 2025, MedSky Airways celebrated the successful launch of its new flight service between Benghazi City and Malta.

This new route aims to strengthen connectivity and promote economic growth by offering travellers more convenient travel options.

The inaugural flight, BM 330, departed Benina Airport at 09:15 UTC and arrived at Luqa Airport at 10:45 UTC.

To mark this milestone, MedSky Airways provided discounted tickets and special gifts for passengers booking travel on this route.

The launch was a joint celebration with Malta MedAir, a long-standing partner, symbolising a growing partnership between the two airlines.

“This new route reflects our dedication to offering exceptional travel experiences and greater convenience,” said MedSky Chairman Mr. Fauzi Ashour Khallefah. “Connecting Benghazi and Malta creates new opportunities for business, tourism, and family connections.”

This route is part of MedSky Airways’ growth strategy, addressing increasing demand for air travel between Libya and Malta.

With weekly flights, passengers can enjoy a comfortable cabin layout and high-quality in-flight service.

Malta MedAir CEO Paul Bugeja praised the development, highlighting how the connection simplifies travel for Libyan passengers seeking medical care, leisure, or business opportunities in Malta and Europe.

Infrastructural upgrades are underway in Ħal Għaxaq to enhance electricity and water services for the locality’s 6,000 residents. These projects, undertaken by Enemalta and the Water Services Corporation, aim to deliver a more stable electricity supply and improved drinking water and sewage systems.

During a site visit with Energy Minister Miriam Dalli and Għaxaq Mayor Karl Boxall, officials emphasized the collaboration between entities and local councils to minimize disruptions while addressing community needs. “Proper planning and cooperation allow us to complete these essential projects efficiently,” said Minister Dalli.

Enemalta is reinforcing the electricity distribution system by laying 6.4 km of new underground cables, part of a larger initiative involving 60 km of cables across 21 localities in Malta and Gozo. Additional work includes commissioning two new substations and upgrading low-voltage networks to enhance flexibility and reliability.

The Water Services Corporation is finalizing upgrades to the sewage and potable water infrastructure to meet current and future demand. These improvements are expected to be completed within weeks.

Mayor Boxall expressed gratitude to residents for their cooperation, acknowledging the temporary inconvenience. The total investment in these upgrades exceeds €2.4 million. Enemalta Chairman Ryan Fava and Water Services Corporation CEO Karl Cilia were also present during the visit.
