This summer, Malta will be represented for the first time at the world-renowned Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany.
Emerging metal band Morsrot secured their place at the prestigious event after winning the Malta Wacken Battle of the Bands at The Garage, a key venue in Malta’s live music scene.

Formed in 2021, Morsrot’s sound has evolved from Death Metal into a more refined style. Their journey has already seen them perform at the Farsons Beer Festival alongside major acts like K.K.’s Priest and Metal Church. They are also set to release their debut album later this year.
Beyond music, Morsrot champions artistic integrity and the importance of pushing boundaries. The band believes in constructive criticism and urges young artists to pursue their passions without fear of failure.
Their Wacken performance is a milestone for Malta’s underground music scene, offering exposure to industry professionals and the chance to put Maltese metal on the global stage. Morsrot now joins past Wacken winners who have built successful international careers.
