Local comedian to host 6 nights of socially-distanced stand-up comedy

Local actor and stand-up comedian Kevin Naudi will be hosting 6 nights of ‘comedy, music, food & drink’ at Chukkas starting from the 7th of November.

The socially-distanced event will feature special guests which include the likes of Ron Briffa and Valentina Rossi in a knee-smacking 18+ event called ‘It’s My Life’. 

With the desperate need for a good laugh and a promise of a ‘whole new approach’, this is an event we definitely don’t want to miss.

106 COVID-19 cases registered overnight with 108 recoveries

Malta has registered 106 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 2,816 swab tests, while 108 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

From yesterday’s cases; 23 cases were family members of previously known cases, 10 cases were contact of positive work colleagues, 2 cases were direct contacts with other positive cases, 1 case was imported and 2 cases were from social gatherings with other positive cases.

To date, Malta has registered 6,506 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 4,505 have recovered, 64 died and 1,937 are still active.

At least 4 dead and 15 injured in suspected Vienna terrorist attack

Reports have emerged that the suspected terrorist attack in Vienna has claimed at least four lives and 15 injuries.

The attack, which began near the Stadttempel synagogue is being connected to an Islamic State terror group, according to Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer.

Vienna police shot and killed one of the suspects, later revealed as an Islamic terrorist who appeared to wear a phoney explosive belt.

Authorities revealed that multiple armed individual may still be in the city.

Majority of COVID-19 helpline calls being answered in under one minute, Fearne reports

In yesterday’s parliamentary address, Health Minister Chris Fearne revealed that a whopping 95% of COVID-19 helpline calls are being answered in under one minute.

This follows Malta Daily’s reporting of complaints regarding the 1-hour waiting time on helpline calls. 

After thanking front-liners for their service, Fearne went on to announce the opening of two more swab centres in the north of Malta and the airport, amongst other announcements.
