Local Calls Out Hazardous Demolition Works

Taking to local Facebook group Malta, an individual called out demolition works that started on a neighbouring building with, reportedly, no notice, consent or regard for surrounding properties or residents.

Sharing photos to the Facebook group, the user said that rubble, dust, and debris have been recklessly thrown onto the front and rear terraces, and that workers have been ‘entering private spaces without any permission whatsoever.’

Meanwhile, electrical wires have been reportedly left exposed and hanging over balconies, with no communication or protective measures.

‘Just complete negligence’, the user wrote.

‘This is not a minor inconvenience. It’s a clear disregard for safety, basic decency, and legal boundaries. It shows a total lack of respect for the people living around the site.’

The user did not name any developers but said that the matter has been reported to the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).

‘Enough is enough. This behaviour is unacceptable, dangerous, and should not be tolerated by anyone.’
