American rapper and singer Lizzo (real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson) commented on a Maltese TikTok shared by @kiradiao.

The video has her, dressed as Lorax, grabbed by other carnival attendees in the utter chaos typical of Nadur Carnival, organised by G7 Events and MaltaDaily.

The song Kira used for the video was ‘Take Me To The King’ by Tamela Mann. And among the people seeing the video was Lizzo, who commented:

‘What y’all know bout take me to the king’, with Kira responding: ‘LIZZO DONT EVEN’.

The first record recognised the company’s long history of creating the King of Carnival in Malta, having produced 30 consecutive floats year after year.
The second record honoured the company as the only one to have presented the King of Carnival in four different arenas: Misraħ il-Ħelsien, Pjazza Tritoni, the Fosos of Floriana, and Pjazza San Ġorġ.
The third record was awarded to the Axisa family, recognised as the longest-serving generation with the same surname to work on the King of Carnival for the most years, having created a total of 30 consecutive floats.

The Malta Police Force brought back the ‘Carnival safety Initiative’ to make sure that no child got lost during the carnival celebrations in Valletta.

‘Following last year’s positive feedback, we’re bringing back our Carnival Safety Initiative to help keep little ones safe during the celebrations’, the force explained.

Officers stationed at Castille Square in Valletta distributed free paper bracelets for children.

‘Parents and guardians can write their name and mobile number on these bracelets, adding an extra layer of security in case a child gets separated from their family.’
