Apple’s latest iOS 17.4 beta release has introduced an array of new emojis, drawing from Unicode’s September 2023 recommendations, ‘Emoji 15.1’.
Among the standout new icons are a phoenix, a lime and a brown mushroom. A notable feature is the inclusion of emojis with heads shaking up and down or left and right, offering a more nuanced way to express agreement or disagreement.
Furthermore, the update introduces a powerful symbol of liberation with the broken chain emoji. The collection also expands its representation with four new non-gender-specifying family emojis, reflecting the diversity of family structures in today’s world.
