Braugher, with his unmistakable deep voice, first gained fame on the NBC drama “Homicide: Life on the Street” from 1992 to 1998. His outstanding portrayal of the tenacious Detective Frank Pembleton earned him an Emmy in 1998.

However, it was his deadpan performance as Captain Raymond Holt in the hit comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” that truly catapulted him to widespread recognition.
