KM Malta Airlines is set to launch a new direct route between Malta (MLA) and Istanbul (IST), starting 2nd June 2025.
The route will operate four times a week (Monday to Thursday) during summer, using the airline’s Airbus A320neo fleet with Business and Economy cabins, offering up to 1,440 return seats weekly.
This expansion, in partnership with Turkish Airlines, enhances international connectivity, providing seamless travel options beyond Istanbul to both domestic and global destinations.
The route will be served at iGA Istanbul Airport (IST) and will be code-shared with Turkish Airlines, ensuring smoother connections for business and leisure travellers.
David Curmi, Chairman of KM Malta Airlines, highlighted that Istanbul’s status as a major hub will open more travel opportunities while strengthening trade and tourism ties between Malta and Türkiye.
Server Aydin, CCO of iGA Istanbul Airport, welcomed the airline, emphasising the importance of this partnership in boosting connectivity and enhancing passenger experience.
This new service joins KM Malta Airlines’ existing network, which includes flights to major European cities like London, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, and Munich. The route reinforces Malta’s position as a growing aviation hub, offering increased accessibility for global travellers.
