KM Malta Airlines Awarded APEX Four Star™ Major Airline For 2026

KM Malta Airlines has been recognised with the 2026 APEX Four Star™ Major Airline award, one of the most respected distinctions in the global aviation sector. The accolade is presented by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) and is based entirely on verified passenger feedback.

The APEX Five Star™ and Four Star™ Airline Awards are the only global airline honours determined solely through neutral, third-party passenger insights gathered via APEX’s partnership with TripIt® from Concur®, the world’s most widely used travel-organising app. For the 2026 awards, passengers rated over one million PNR-verified flights across more than 600 airlines worldwide on a five-star scale. All ratings were independently certified by an external auditing company to ensure transparency and integrity.

This year, APEX raised its criteria, limiting Five Star™ recognition to the top 40 airlines worldwide—less than 7% of those rated. The Four Star™ designation recognises the next 50 airlines globally, including the top 10 low-cost carriers, representing just 8% of airlines worldwide. Together with the 10 APEX World Class™ airlines, these carriers make up the Top 100 airlines in the world for passenger experience.

The award was officially presented at the APEX/IFSA Global EXPO on 11 September 2025, attended by airlines and industry leaders from around the globe.
