In an unexpected yet fascinating collaboration, King Charles III is set to make his Apple Music debut as a guest DJ.
His one-off radio show, aptly titled The King’s Music Room, was recorded at Buckingham Palace, offering a rare glimpse into the monarch’s personal music tastes.
The 76-year-old sovereign has personally curated a diverse playlist, spanning decades of music—from 1930s classics to hits from disco divas and reggae legends.
According to Apple Music, the selection takes listeners on a musical journey reflecting the King’s own experiences, promising a blend of nostalgic favourites and contemporary gems.
This initiative coincides with Commonwealth Day on 10 March, celebrating the King’s role as head of state for 15 nations, including Canada, Australia, and Jamaica. The programme will feature music from across the Commonwealth, shaped by the King’s global encounters and cultural influences.
Speaking about the power of music, King Charles III said: “Music has a unique ability to transport us, stir memories, and lift our spirits—particularly when it brings people together in celebration. It brings us joy.”
The King’s Music Room will air on Apple Music 1 on Monday, 10 March, at 6am GMT, featuring legendary artists such as Bob Marley, Grace Jones, Davido, and Raye.
