In a recent TikTok video, Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, subtly criticised the Labour Party’s ‘Kamp Politiku’ reality show, which features Labour MEPs.

While in Malta, Metsola was asked if she would be watching the show. In response, she lipsynced to Taylor Swift’s lyrics from “But Daddy I Love Him,” saying, “I’ll tell you something right now I’d rather burn my whole life down than listen to one more second of all this…”.

Alex Agius Saliba Takes Jabs at Nationalist MEPs During Rally
May 25 2024 Share

At a recent campaign event, Member of European Parliament and Labour candidate for this year’s election, Alex Agius Saliba, delivered a fiery address to the crowd.

He began by critiquing what he dubbed the Nationalist Party’s “star candidates,” taking a pointed jab at Roberta Metsola. Agius Saliba accused Metsola of having time to pose for a photo with Love Island Malta’s “Punisher” while allegedly neglecting opportunities to engage in debates with the Labour side about political stances and future plans.

Continuing his critique, Agius Saliba highlighted the absence of David Casa from any meetings or debates he had been invited to. Expressing his frustration, Agius Saliba remarked that these prominent MEPs had “chickened out” of meaningful political debates.

The political veteran highlighted that while Roberta Metsola could not be available for a debate due to her commitments as European Parliament president, Casa should be more than available to attend and participate in a political debate.
