During an interview on Kuntatt on NET FM, PN Leader Bernard Grech urged the Maltese and Gozitans to go beyond expressing frustration on social media and take an active stand against the government’s alleged misuse of power.
Grech highlighted that ministers Clayton Bartolo and Clint Camilleri, close allies of Prime Minister Robert Abela, are at the centre of these controversies.
He criticised what he sees as a pattern of unaccountability, where apologies from officials are seen as an insufficient response to serious accusations. Grech argued that the people deserve more than empty apologies and that accountability should require restitution for alleged misdeeds.
Grech stressed that citizens need to convey a strong message to Abela and his administration that they will not tolerate misuse of public funds, especially when public money is allegedly being directed to personal favours, as in the recent promotion of a minister’s girlfriend to a lucrative public role.
He reiterated the call for the resignation of ministers Bartolo and Camilleri, insisting that public servants must answer for their actions.
Grech concluded that Maltese and Gozitan citizens must voice their dissatisfaction on Monday to demand transparency, accountability, and a government that respects the people’s resources.
He called on citizens to join the Partit Nazzjonalista’s protest this coming Monday at 6 p.m. in Valletta, saying that real change requires direct action to hold the administration accountable for alleged corruption and misuse of public funds.

’20 year old student Raquel – who was in Brussels during a trip with her father – has now entered the European Parliament’s history books’, explained Metsola.
‘This is a museum that everyone should have the chance to visit. A symbolic space that does not only display how people have embraced what unites them, but through the various exhibitions and activities organised, it also offers an environment where one can learn, reflect, debate and understand how far we have come.’

Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research, and Innovation, Keith Azzopardi Tanti, together with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE Malta), announced details of the second edition of the IEEE R8 Robot Championship, which will be held in Malta from November 23-24, 2024.
This event continues to raise awareness around robotics and STEM education, aiming to foster international collaboration in technology and innovation.
Building on the success of the 2022 championship, which reached an audience of over 1,500 and earned Malta the prestigious Best STEAM Initiative Award, the event positions Malta as a hub of STEM excellence.
This year’s championship features 18 teams selected from 38 international applicants, creating a platform for students, educators, and experts to exchange innovative ideas and contribute to the future of robotics.
Parliamentary Secretary Azzopardi Tanti emphasized the government’s commitment to STEM and robotics education, noting that the IEEE Championship demonstrates Malta’s investment in young talent within fields critical to the economy.
Dr. Conrad Attard, IEEE Region 8 Chair, highlighted IEEE Malta’s mission for technological excellence, adding that this championship offers an inspiring experience for the international robotics community.
The IEEE event encourages students to build their own robots, learn practical skills, and develop critical thinking, teamwork, and innovation competencies. In collaboration with Tech.mt, MDIA, MCAST, and the University of Malta, the championship also underscores Malta’s expanding STEM initiatives.
