Japan’s dressing room left spotless after national team’s World Cup win over Germany

Japan's dressing room left spotless after national team's World Cup win over Germany
Nov 24 2022 Share

Beyond the incredible first-game win against Germany in the World Cup, the Japanese national team has been making quite a name for itself for the respectable actions conducted by the team and its supporters in Qatar.

On Wednesday, revered sports journalist Fabrizio Romano shared a photo of the Japanese team’s dressing room in immaculate condition after their victory against Germany. The photo went viral within minutes, with supporters from around the world praising the team for leaving the dressing room ‘spotless’.

This kind of conduct is not exclusive to the Japanese team, with clips of Japan’s supporters also going viral after they were caught cleaning up the stadium in the aftermath of Qatar versus Ecuador.

Japan’s national team and their supporters continue to make a name for themselves for their conduct in Qatar. Their next match-up will happen on Sunday 27th November, with Japan set to take on Costa Rica at 11AM.

Hopefully these kinds of actions will be emulated by other teams and supporters at the Qatar World Cup.

Maltese activists to protest outside police headquarters to call for responsibility on femicides

Maltese activists to protest outside police headquarter to call for responsibility on femicides
Nov 24 2022 Share

On Friday 25th November, local activists will gather outside Malta’s police headquarters to call for responsibility from the authorities and ask the question “who will answer for these femicides?”

This comes after 40-year-old mother-of-two Bernice Cassar was shot dead by her estranged husband in Paola’s Corradino area close to MCAST.

In a Facebook post published on Thursday, activist Moviment Graffitti stated that they will be meeting in front of the Floriana police headquarters, the same place where Cassar had reported she was threatened, with another report being made as early as the Monday before the murder.

The protest will attempt to appeal for the elimination of delayed court proceedings and call for immediate measures from the authorities to address domestic violence quickly and efficiently.

The protest will take place on the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Following the murder, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that it is unacceptable that a court case is appointed nine months or one year after, especially those of a sensitive nature like domestic violence.

On Wednesday, the European Parliament’s website fell victim to a ‘sophisticated’ cyberattack by what has been confirmed to be a pro-Kremlin group. This comes mere hours after the EP declared Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

“I confirm that the Parliament has been subject to an external cyber attack, but the Parliamentary services are doing well to defend the Parliament,” Parliament vice president responsible for cybersecurity Dita Charanzová stated.

A high-ranking Parliament official, who asked news platform Politico to remain anonymous, stated that it may well be the most sophisticated attack the Parliament has known.

The attack itself, which is a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is a typical move by hackers who wish to disrupt organisations and cause chaos by sending huge amounts of traffic to a server.

In response to the attack, the EP president had only one thing to say: “Slava Ukraini”.

After it went missing, the car made headlines in Italy, Sicily, Malta and even America, with Prout calling on the person responsible to return it as soon as possible.

The vehicle was then found in an Iklin road by Mosta resident Lee Micallef, who alerted the police and its rightful owner soon after spotting it.

The car was reportedly in fair condition, with “very minor damage done”.
