Apple has announced the date for its next major event: September 9th, 2024, at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT. The event, themed “It’s Glowtime,” will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park.
The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 lineup during the event. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are anticipated to feature a significant change—a vertically aligned camera system on the back. (Based on iPhone 16 dummy units, this design shift already looks promising.) The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max may have larger screens but are likely to retain Apple’s familiar three-camera layout. Additionally, these models could be available in a new bronze color.
All four iPhone 16 models are expected to include the Action Button, which was previously exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro line. Apple’s new iPhones may also introduce a dedicated button for capturing photos and videos, though it’s unclear whether this feature will be exclusive to the Pro models or available across the entire lineup.
AI and Apple’s Apple Intelligence features are likely to play a significant role in the event as well. Currently, only the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max support Apple Intelligence, but the entire iPhone 16 lineup is rumored to be compatible with this feature when it becomes available.
In addition to the iPhone 16, Apple is also expected to launch the Apple Watch Series 10 and two new versions of AirPods at the event.
