Kanye West, now known as Ye, might be retiring from the music industry.
According to a since-deleted Instagram post by rapper Rich the Kid, Ye stated in a text message, “I am retiring from professional music.” Ye’s reason was vague, simply expressing uncertainty about his next steps in music.
Rich the Kid responded with disbelief and urged Ye to reconsider, highlighting the cultural impact of their collaborations, including the recent hit single “Carnival” with Ty Dolla $ign, which became West’s first number one hit in 13 years.
Despite the apparent seriousness of Ye’s message, the post was quickly deleted, leading fans to speculate it might have been a publicity stunt.
This theory gained traction when Rich later promoted his upcoming album, “Life’s A Gamble,” featuring new collaborations with Ye.
The controversy and speculation surrounding Ye’s potential retirement have left fans confused and eager for clarity.
Ye’s career, spanning over two decades, includes 10 studio albums and 24 Grammy wins. His debut album, “College Dropout,” was released in 2004 and remains critically acclaimed.
