The Ministry for Gozo and Planning, together with minister Clint Camilleri, recently unveiled a new digital platform, investgozo.gov.mt, aimed at bolstering business growth in Gozo.

This innovative website is a comprehensive resource for businesses either established in or considering relocating to Gozo, detailing all the information and available schemes designed to support their operations on the island.

Gozo is celebrated for offering a high quality of life that blends professional opportunities with a rich, balanced personal life. It’s an environment where multiculturalism thrives, family values are cherished, and individuals can enjoy a work-life harmony that is unparalleled, making it a coveted destination for those aiming to enhance their business or career in a setting known for its joy and tranquility.

In a recent announcement on Facebook, Minister Camilleri highlighted that the website would feature extensive details on all eligible schemes at both regional and national levels. These include seven incentive schemes ranging from supporting sustainable employment and knowledge-based sectors to promoting teleworking, restoring the MICE sector, boosting adventurous tourism, and enhancing marketing efforts for the accommodation sector and specific niche markets in Gozo for 2024.

Festa Season Kicks Off as Floriana Celebrates Feast of St. Publius

Malta’s eagerly awaited festa season commenced with the village of Floriana celebrating the feast of its patron saint, St. Publius, the first Maltese bishop. This marks the beginning of a vibrant series of festas that span from May to September, each hosted by different villages across the island.

St. Publius is a figure of great historical and religious significance in Malta, and Floriana’s festa in his honour is traditionally the first in the annual cycle of such events. Videos sent to Malta Daily show Floriana natives admire fireworks, pyrotechnics, street celebrations as well as the traditional procession with the statue of St. Publius himself.

The festa season is characterised by colourful processions, fireworks, and community gatherings that blend culture, history, and faith. Each village uniquely celebrates its patron saint, decorating streets with lights and banners, and hosting various events including traditional music and food stalls.

Floriana’s feast sets the tone for the season, with its lively atmosphere and elaborate decorations, providing a festive opening to what is a cherished time of the year for many Maltese residents and visitors alike.

Maltese Footballer Yankam Nets Second Goal in United States Career

Maltese midfielder Yannick Yankam recently scored his second goal of the season for Kentucky’s Lexington SC in a USL League One match against Spokane Velocity.

The game, which took place on Sunday, saw Yankam scoring the equalising goal in the first half after Lexington fell behind in the 19th minute. This goal follows his first of the season, which he scored last month during Lexington’s home opener, leading his team to a victory against Chattanooga RW.

Despite having played only five games for Lexington so far, Yankam has already made a significant impact, earning a place in the USL 1 Team of the Week twice.

The match against Spokane Velocity concluded with a final score of 2-2. Yankam’s performance continues to highlight his valuable contribution to his team in the early part of the season.
