Injured Turtle Injured By Fishing Lines

While conducting a monitoring operation near Xlendi in search of a specific turtle, divers from Ritual Dive discovered another turtle in distress. This turtle was found with multiple fishing lines protruding from its cloaca, indicating serious injury.
The turtle, named Loona, is now under the care of Wildlife Rescue Team Malta’s veterinary experts and will undergo an assessment to determine whether it has ingested a fishing hook.
