Disney has officially confirmed the development of Ice Age 6, with key cast members from the franchise returning for the latest adventure. The news was announced at the D23 Brazil event, where Ray Romano, who voices Manny the woolly mammoth, shared the exciting update in a video posted on YouTube.
In the video, Romano humorously comments on the cold temperature, joking that the air conditioning may have malfunctioned. He then introduces Queen Latifah, who voices Manny’s wife, Ellie, before announcing the return of the beloved characters. John Leguizamo, who voices Sid the sloth, also makes an appearance, teasing, “The herd is back baby.”
Alongside Romano, Latifah, and Leguizamo, Denis Leary (Diego the sabre-toothed tiger) and Simon Pegg (weasel Buck) are set to return for the sixth film. The new installment will follow the survival of Manny and his friends during the early Ice Age.
The last film in the series, Ice Age: Collision Course, was released in 2016. Disney has confirmed the new movie is currently in production, though a release date has yet to be announced.
