Ian Borg Meets American Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ian Borg, held a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Rome yesterday, highlighting the strong diplomatic ties between Malta and the United States.
Following the meeting, Borg described the encounter as a “pleasant evening,” adding that discussions centred on the “excellent relations” shared by the two countries. He expressed optimism about further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the coming years.
Secretary Rubio, a key figure within the current US administration, is widely considered a rising political force and has been publicly endorsed by President Donald Trump as a possible successor.
