Heritage Malta has launched its events calendar for the coming year, a twelve-month programme of exciting cultural, educational, and interactive experiences for diverse audiences.
The calendar includes 153 events and promises to be your trusted companion in creating a year full of discoveries, memories and exploration you will look back upon with delight.
From exclusive behind the scenes tours of iconic historic sites for members only and insightful lectures and workshops to family friendly activities that spark curiosity in younger generations, adventurous harbour cruises, heritage trails, equinox and solstice experiences, and Taste History gastronomic journeys, there is something enjoyable for everyone.
Several momentous anniversaries will be commemorated this year, including the 50th anniversary of the National War Museum, the 10th anniversary of Fort St. Elmo’s opening, the 110th anniversary of the first sketches of the Ħal Tarxien Prehistoric Complex, and the 460th anniversary of the Great Siege, making the programme even more special.
Unique events have been planned to mark each milestone, inviting the public to join in the celebrations.
At a press conference to launch the events calendar, Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, said that:
“Our commitment for this year is to continue to spearhead inclusivity and accessibility, with bilingual events, others aimed at people with different abilities, and numerous opportunities for student and senior passport holders. The calendar also contains collaborations with local artists and organisations, ensuring dynamism between what is traditional and modern”.
Heritage Malta’s Chief Executive Officer, Noel Zammit, stated that: “As we step into a new year, our vision remains focused on connecting people with Malta’s heritage in meaningful and innovative ways.
This year’s events programme will continue to personify the Part of Us slogan, while also introducing the ‘Peek into Heritage’ campaign, which encourages the public to actively explore the islands’ treasures that we proudly safeguard for future generations.
This year’s calendar features over 50 additional events compared to previous year, a direct response to the growing enthusiasm of our patrons.”
The new calendar is now available on Heritage Malta’s website: https://heritagemalta.mt/leaflets-and-brochures/, where visitors can explore the full lineup of events and book tickets online.
Physical copies will also be available in Heritage Malta’s museums and sites in the coming weeks. More information about each event may be accessed here: www.heritagemalta.mt/whats-on.
