Feb 28 2023 Share

Images and informations sent to this newsroom show homeless persons sleeping outside at Stazzjon Garden in Birkirkara.

The person contacting this newsroom said that this is becoming a norm and nothing is being done about it, despite Malta’s reputation for being able to provide shelter for those needing shelter.

It is unclear whether this situation is being addressed directly following calls for action being made by the residents of the area.

What do you make of this?

As for best fan awards, Argentina fans took the trophy for their celebrations and support following the World Cup 2022 in Qatar as the team won the prestigious title.

The best fair play award was bagged by Luka Lochoshvili. A collision left an opponent (Austria Vienna’s Georg Teigl) unconscious on the ground, and Lochoshvili reacted quickly to save the player, who had swallowed his own tongue.

Last but not least, a special recognition was given to Pele’s legacy, who passed away late last year. ‘Pele is eternal. He is with us and will always be with us’ said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Nationalist Party supporters fume as Labour MPs exit parliament

Feb 28 2023 Share

In a video shared by newspaper Illum, Nationalist Party supporters could be seen shaking the Maltese Parliament barriers as Labour MPs exit the building, yelling ‘corrupt’ (korrotti).

A protest was called for yesterday evening by the Nationalist Party titled ‘Give Us Back the Hospitals’, following the recent court ruling in the Vitals-Steward Healthcare case kicked off by former PN leader Adrian Delia.

After a parliamentary speech by the Opposition leader Bernard Grech and Labour MPs, the crowd which gathered outside the parliament building got enraged and forced the Malta Police Force to keep the crowd back.

In another video shared to TikTok by user @techfreddie shows the moment the Nationalist Party supporters push the Maltese Parliament barriers as Labour MPs exit the building.

♬ Revolution – The Score

This was before the Nationalist Party MPs took to the protest themselves, so that current leader Bernard Grech and former leader Adrian Delia addressed the crowd.
