Sliema Suitcase Corpse’s Stomach Reportedly Found Filled With Drugs

Sliema Suitcase Corpse’s Stomach Reportedly Found Filled With Drugs
Dec 10 2024 Share

An autopsy has revealed that the man found in a suitcase in the sea off Tas-Sliema had a body filled with drugs, TVM News reported.

Authorities believe the victim, likely aged between 40 and 50, may have been of foreign nationality and possibly had a disability. Investigations into his identity and the circumstances of his death are ongoing.

The suitcase was spotted in the Tigné area around 2:00 p.m. by a Scottish passerby. When police retrieved it, they discovered a dismembered body inside. Initially thought to be missing parts, the victim’s hands and feet were later found at the bottom of the suitcase.

Investigators suspect the man was killed, dismembered with an axe, and thrown into the sea. However, the suitcase floated to the surface due to insufficient weight to keep it submerged. Sources also suggest that the murderer purchased both the axe and the suitcase from the same shop in Naxxar.

The autopsy, conducted by Dr. Mario Xerri, aims to gather further details to aid the investigation. Meanwhile, police continue their search for the suspect.
