Here Are Some Tips To Keep Your Pets Safe In The Heat!

Keeping pets safe during the summer heat is essential, especially for dogs and cats who are particularly vulnerable to rising temperatures.
While humans can sweat to cool down, pets rely on other methods, such as panting or seeking shade, which are not always effective in extreme heat.
One of the most important steps is to ensure your pet always has access to fresh, clean water. Refill water bowls regularly and consider placing multiple bowls around the home or garden.

Avoid taking your dog for walks during the hottest part of the day, usually between late morning and early evening. Instead, go out early in the morning or later in the evening when the temperature is lower and pavements are cooler.
Never leave a pet alone in a parked car, even for a few minutes. Temperatures inside a car can rise quickly and become life-threatening.
At home, keep pets indoors during peak heat hours and ensure they have a cool, shaded area to rest. Fans and air conditioning can help, but also consider using damp towels or cooling mats to regulate their body temperature.
Watch for signs of heatstroke such as heavy panting, drooling, lethargy or vomiting. If you notice any of these symptoms, move your pet to a cool place, offer water and contact a vet immediately.
