Harmless Basking Shark Spotted Off Spanish Coast

Local marine biologist Alan Deidun was made aware of a video of a basking shark spotting off the coast of the Spanish city of Marbella in Costa del Sol.
The shark, known as ‘gabdoll’ in Maltese, is a gentle giant that is harmless to humans as it feeds on plankton.
The shark is the second largest fish and shark after the whale shark, reaching lengths of up to 8 to 10 metres.
