Granola Gelateria Shows Process Behind Bubble Gum Ice Cream

Sep 7 2023 Share

There’s no debate on whether the bubble gum ice cream is one of the Maltese Islands’ most nostalgic treats – it is an unspoken fact which has transcended generations.

The frosted journey to the bottom of the conical casing is a fond childhood memory and, while the process is not exactly rocket science, watching one of our favourite treats getting made is satisfying AF.

Thanks to Xlendi gelateria and ice cream manufacturers Gelati Granola, lovers of the pink and white ice cream got a chance to see the classic dessert being made like clockwork, thanks to Granola’s ice-cream making machine.

“Just as the world goes round, so does the making of our Ball gum Ice-Cream”, the gelateria wrote in a recent Facebook post, which garnered hundreds of likes.

Whether you have visited the iconic Xlendi Gelateria or indulged in one of their delicious icy treats, Gelati Granola are a Maltese staple and we can’t one to grab our next bubble gum ice cream.

Joseph Mbong scored Malta’s only goal over Gibraltar in an international friendly played at the National Stadium on Wednesday.

This comes ahead of Malta’s participation in the Euro 2024, as well as before Tuesday’s qualifier against North Macedonia at the same stadium.

The Maltese had multiple opportunities to score were it not for Gibraltar goalkeeper Dayley Coleing’s guard. However, an early second half goal by Mbong on the 58th minute catapulted the Maltese to victory.

Football fans who took a look at the 2023 Ballon d’Or might have noticed a very particular omission from the list.

Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been denied a spot on the list of the sport’s highest honour.

Despite consisting of some of the most famous players alive today, including long time rival Lionel Messi, Ronaldo did not make it onto this year’s run-up for the first time in 20 years.

The Al-Nassr addition has dominated the awards alongside his rival, with the former taking the prize five times. Meanwhile, Messi, who took it home seven times, is the favourite to win once again.

The Argentinian has recently joined Inter Miami, and has been turning celebrity heads ever since.

It also showcases the 2013 setting up of the Consultative Council for the LGBTIQ+ community, the 2014 civil union acquisition and the 2017 marriage-equality legalisation.

Other achievements, such as MEP Cyrus Engerer leading the charge for a zone of freedom for the LGBTIQ+ community in 2021, the right right to transition in 2018, third gender markers on official documents in 2017, were also highlighted.

This comes as EuroPride Valletta begins with celebrations and a whole host of educational seminars and networking events.
