Today marks eight years since the collapse of the Azure Window, Gozo’s iconic limestone arch, which fell into the sea on the 8th of March in 2017 during a powerful storm.
The Azure Window had been a symbol of Malta’s natural beauty for centuries and it’s safe to say, we all remember where we were when we received the tragic news.
The structure was a popular tourist attraction and was also a filming location for ‘Game of Thrones’. Despite the loss, the Dwejra Bay area remains a key destination nonetheless.
