Gozo Promoted As A Global Investment Hub During The SiGMA VIP Gozo Experience And Affiliate Retreat
The Minister for Gozo and Planning, Clint Camilleri, addressed over 60 investors from the gaming and emerging technology sectors during the SiGMA VIP Gozo Experience at the Innovation Hub in Xewkija. This marked the first collaboration of its kind between the SiGMA Group and the Ministry for Gozo and Planning through InvestGozo.
Between 28 and 30 August, the Affiliate Retreat was also held, hosting 50 senior affiliate leaders. These individuals build online communities, map consumer journeys, and generate millions in visits and revenue.
Both events served to showcase the potential for investors to consider Gozo for future business initiatives, particularly due to its robust digital infrastructure and high quality of life. Additionally, all national-level incentives are available in Gozo, including specific incentives tailored to the island.
In his speech, Minister Clint Camilleri stated, “In recent years, the Government has invested significantly to ensure the island is prepared to attract high-quality investment in the digital and innovative sectors. Clear examples include the Innovation Hub, the installation of a second fibre optic cable, and other lifestyle and connectivity initiatives such as the Gozo Sports and Aquatic Pavilion, the fast ferry service extension, and the development of the Gozo airfield.”
The lifestyle of the Gozo community, its climate, natural environment, and sea, along with the major economic and infrastructural developments undertaken by the Government, are all key factors in attracting this type of investment. Camilleri added that it was natural for the Ministry to collaborate with SiGMA to promote Gozo as a global investment hub. Partnerships were also established with Malta Enterprise and Gaming Malta, two leading government entities that provide guidance and support for foreign investment in Malta.
Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by thanking SiGMA, Malta Enterprise, Gaming Malta, the management of the Gozo Innovation Hub, and the InvestGozo team within the Ministry for their efforts in making the initiative a success, expressing optimism for further global investment in the island of Gozo.
